Aiden (Nathan)
The overturned table caught on fire. The flames were spreading on the rug and coming dangerously close to the bar. Scattered haphazardly around the broken dishes and glasses were lifeless bodies, a few with daggers stabbed through them. Screams and yells in the distance echoed in the tall arched ceilings of the hotel lounge they were in.
One would think that something had gone horribly awry but to Nathan, everything had gone according to plan. Except for this one little thing. A tiny miscalculation.Above him, pinning him to the cold marble ground, was a blond man in a suit. He had his knee pressed against Nathan's chest and a hand grasped around his throat, letting barely enough air to keep him from blacking out. All the flailing he had done in an attempt for freedom led nowhere and now all he could do was pant and glare up at his opponent. This was Nathan's miscalculation. All information led him to believe the creature before him was an apathetic vampire who didn't care if he lived or died. This seems to be incorrect. The man gave him a fanged smile. "So tell me, why did you do this?" He asked in a tone that one would give to a naughty puppy.
"One of your lackeys owes me money." He wasn't about to tell a vampire his life story.
In response, the man laughed. "I think money should be the least of your worries."
Behind the man's glasses was a glint in his eyes that made Nathan's blood run cold.Shit, he thought. The realization slowly set in him. I'm going to die tonight.
